Detailed models may use either the Spatial Elements method (which reads Rooms and Spaces) or the Building Elements method which uses volumes enclosed by floors, walls and roofs and glazing.
If possible, models should be lean without unnecessary furniture, casework, mechanical equipment etc which may reduce performance and lead to longer processing times. Links may be detached if they are not essential to the building envelope or space layout.
Open FenestraPro from the Add-in menu in Revit. When the splash screen displays – Choose Spatial Elements (if the model has rooms or spaces placed) or Building Elements (if there are no rooms or spaces).
If the Project has not been opened before in FenestraPro, the Building Manager will appear prompting you to input settings for the building location, occupancy, etc.
The Solar Loads may then be calculated. This will contact the web service to provide results for each orientation.
Shading may be calculated if the building has a shape that means that some parts of the building shade other parts. Otherwise, if this is not the case, this may be left unchecked for faster calculations.
Once these calculations are complete, a message will prompt you to close the Building Manager and focus on the main window of FenestraPro with Target and Façade Manager.
The Façade Manager will display details for all the surfaces in the model. The Details List provides a breakdown of glazing panels and windows as well as solid curtain panels.
A single surface or multiple surfaces may be selected in the list by clicking on the check boxes and relevant information will then appear in the Details List and in the Charts.
The Charts may be opened to view the details of Glazing Percentage, Solar Loads Daylighting.
