7.0 Detailed Revit Models

2 minutesread

There are a few differences in the User Interface for Detailed models when compared to that for Conceptual Mass models.

For instance,  in the Performance tab, Overall Glazing cannot be set for the entire model (unlike for Mass models). This would involve adjusting the dimensions of actual glazed elements (windows and curtain walls) in the model.

Performance for Detailed models also does not allow thermal properties to be input for elements.  Element Properties are read directly from the Revit model.

  1. Solid Element properties may be adjusted by going to Revit’s Type Properties.
  2. Glazing Properties may be adjusted by using the Glass Database in FenestraPro or by using Type Properties in Revit.

Maximum Glazing Percentage is not available for Detailed models.  This is because Detailed models have actual glazing element families instead of notional glazed zones that may be adjusted in Mass models. The Recalculate button is also not displayed for Detailed models.

The Façade Manager also has functions which are appropriate only for Detailed models such as Window and Curtain Wall generation.

There are also extra functions for Custom Properties of glazing and Resizing of windows.

The Details List also allows details of window and curtain panel properties as well as modification of glazed elements by double clicking on a family type to open Revit’s Edit Type tool.

This is explained in more detail below.
